Small apps for making music

Gelato Audio makes music apps for iPhone: Gelato Synth for shaping sounds, Gelato Chord for playing chords and melodies, and Gelato Tuner for tuning and practice.

Gelato Audio is the music-app name of Cerrone LLC, the seller listed on the App Store. We are a tiny team. Our apps work offline, have no ads or accounts, and collect no personal data.

About our guides

The Learn guides are published by Gelato Audio. They explain music with concrete notes, settings and things to try. Guides about our apps are checked against their features. Comparisons identify our own apps and link to the other products they discuss.

Each guide shows its publication or update date. Prices and features can change, so check the linked product page before buying. To suggest a correction, email hello@gelatoaudio.com with the page and the detail that needs attention.

How the sound demos are made

The examples on our app pages use the apps' factory sounds and their own audio engines, including effects. We render original note sequences offline and add a short fade at the edges. There are no extra instruments or effects in those clips.

The Rhodes recording used by Gelato Chord is from Jeff Learman's jRhodes library. The piano and concert harp are from Versilian Studios. These source instruments are released under CC0; the app credits its instrument libraries.
